…back from Costa Rica – a week full of experiences behind us 🙂 . Well, let me say it in advance: Unfortunately, we were not lucky enough to get the “Grand Slam”, as the swordfish on the tour were exclusively blue marlin. Marlin fishing was also quite difficult on the first day, as we were heading into a low-pressure area – unusual for the time of year – which had pushed the baitfish and thus also the big predators far into the deeper water areas.

Nevertheless, we were able to bring 7 blue marlin to the boat and release them in 3 days of fishing offshore – a result that would have been more than satisfying even in other world-class fishing areas, and thus every participant of the tour had landed at least one marlin. Only the fact that our boat, the “Thumper”, had normally caught considerably more fish on average on previous trips could put a stop to the overflowing euphoria.
But even though they have already won the award for the best marlin boat in the entire Pacific region twice, every tour is different – the game is always shuffled anew and the fish want to be hooked first. It’s a new challenge every time. |

Pre-announcement: For 2022, we are again planning an accompanied tour (also for single anglers) to Costa Rica for marlin fishing. Interested participants can already make a note of their intentions. |
