You have been already to some fantastic destinations in the Northern hemisphere – maybe a few times to Norway or Iceland and now you are looking for a new challenge in terms of sea fishing in the Northatlantik Ocean? Then the Faroe Islands are exactly what you have been looking for! Here you will realise quite soon that you are at a very special place on earth – it’s like a piece of security in the middle of an endless huge and powerful ocean.

The Faroe Islands are located northwest from Scotland approximately on half way between Norway and Iceland You will find this archipelago at 62° N in the middle of the Gulfstream. “In the middle” of the Gulfstream means, that the water in comparison to other zones of the stream (e.g.the currents that passes along the Norwegian or Icelandic coast) is much warmer. Warmer water means not only a much more moderate climate (especially in the winter), but also a huge variety of fish species. Because of this reason you have beside the common species like Cod, Ling, and Halibut also the Porbeagle Shark frequently around the Islands.

Since the 1960th the Faroe Islands, which were quite poor in former times, and hich were called “Islands of Peace” or Archipelago of tth light” developed step by step to a very modern and even rich state. The economy – which it’s only relevant basis is the fish – was booming, – as fish has always been there plenty enough.

The Faroer consist of alltogether 18 islands with totally almost 1400 km² and they have the form of an upsidedown standing triangle with an expansion of approxamately 110 km North/South and 75 km East/West. The entire shoreline of the coast is 1100 km. There is no point at the islands which is in a distance of more than 5 km from the sea. It’s not very long time ago, when the Faroer where very difficult to get to and have been more like a destination for explorers.

Today this has changed totally – thanks to the very good infrastructure to the European continent (plane/ferry) and because of the very good road network on the islands. However – the enormous and powerful Ocean lies there as all the time and it will wake up your spirit of adventure latest when you go out with a boat in order to experience the breathtaking nature – just like in the old days. A boat trip between the islands that look from above like little cliffs and that appears to the sailors like skycraping massivs, is a unique experience.

How to get there

Either by plane from Billund or Copenhagen (Denmark) directy to the Faroer (flighttime app. 2 hours), or by car/ferry (Smyril Line) from Hanstholm/Denmark to Torshavn/Faroer.

The Boats

If you have a look at the map, you will not need much imagination in order to figure out, , that due to the straits and sounds between the islands there is during the ride a lot of movements in the water. Nevertheless does the word “current” have a very special meaning at the Faroers – if you have not experienced this yourself you probably cannot imagine with how much power the masses of water a pressed between the islands. So you inevitable may think of the world famous “Moskenes Straumen” in Norway, that even Jules Verne once mentioned. But of course – the enormous abundance of fish must somehow have a reason..

Therefore we have just some very safe and stable boats with very experienced skippers in our program. This will give you first and foremost a maximum of security and enlarges of course also your chances for very good fishing, as the captian/crew knows the area very good. You may prepare the fish directly during your stay – but you have also the possibility to deepfreeze part of your catch and take it back home.

We have 2 types of boats in different size and for your choice, to give smaller as well as bigger groups an interesting offer.
