Fishing adventure SPAIN – MALLORCA
Let’s have a look at the fishing adventure in SPAIN – MALLORCA now: Around the Cape Formentor – along the Northern coastline of the island – you can really experience great moments while fishing.
The main target fish is – without doubts – the BlueFin Tuna which has been caught here in huge size beyond the 200 kg mark. Moreover there are Broadbill Swordfish, different Shark species and a wide range of bottom fish which you can fish for, while waiting for the big Tuna bite.
Fishing trips
Capt. Toni Riera and his brother Vince belong to the best skippers which you can fnd in this area and they will for sure bring you a big step closer to the fish of your dreams. Both of them have been fishing trips in SPAIN – MALLORCA for more than 20 years in these waters and were able to hook up several thousands(!) of “BlueFins“ – most of them were landed successfuly. The personal best mark is not less than 348 kg – one has to beat that first….

You can customize your fishing trip entirely to suit your target fish or the desired length of the trip. We offer the following options:
Light Trolling
Light trolling primarily involves using smaller lures close to the coast, either on the surface or in deeper waters, depending on the season.

Big Game Trolling
Fishing on the open sea, e.g., for longfin tuna (white tuna), bonito, bigeye tuna, mahi-mahi (dorado), and marlin. All these pelagic fish species come to Mallorca in the summer to spawn.
On this tour, we troll with surface lures and wobblers.
In addition, sightings of turtles, dolphins, whales, and manta rays are common. The average size of the fish on this tour is around 10–20 kg.

8 HOURS OF BIG-GAME FISHING FOR BLUEFIN TUNA
If you’re looking for a real challenge, this tour is perfect for you. When a massive bluefin tuna is fighting at the other end of the line, it demands a great deal from the angler. We fish at a spot the locals call “The Supermarket,” where the big fish gather to feed on the abundant supply of food. The average size is around 100 kg year-round.
In May and June, the Atlantic monsters arrive, and then you can almost always expect fish weighing over 200 kg. When a fish of that caliber takes the bait, a grueling fight is guaranteed!
When the big tuna aren’t biting, we usually target other species such as smaller tuna, marlin, and mahi-mahi, which increases the variety of catches.

Trolling for Swordfish (at Night)
Swordfish (Lat.: Gladius gladius) hunt near the surface at night—and that’s where you can specifically target the “gladiator of the seas.” One thing should be noted, however: Hooking a swordfish is one thing—getting it into the boat is quite another. Swordfish fight like berserkers and demand strength and endurance from the angler. They are among the toughest fighters of all, and such a catch will surely remain in an angler’s memory forever.
In summary, one can say: It is one of the most challenging types of deep-sea fishing there is.

Amberjack
At the end of summer, there is an abundance of baitfish along the coast of Mallorca, which causes the large amberjacks to begin hunting closer to shore. This presents the perfect opportunity to target them. First, we catch little tunny and “bullet” tuna, which make perfect bait for monster amberjack.
Brutal strikes and intense fights will leave your arms aching. A true adventure!

“El Banco” Tour
The “Banco de Emile de Baudot” (named after a French scientist) has become a legendary spot for catching big game fish. It is a plateau located about 50 nautical miles offshore from Mallorca and spans approximately 2 by 6 nautical miles. The average water depth is about 85–120 m, but at the edges, the plateau drops steeply—quickly to over 1,000 m on the north side and even to over 2,500 m on the south side. You don’t have to be an expert to imagine that just about every species of fish in the Mediterranean comes here to feed. But that’s not all—huge whales (primarily sperm whales) also regularly visit the bank to fill their bellies here.
