Fishing adventure EGYPT
The Read Sea, which is surrounded by the Arabic Peninsula on the one hand side and from North-East Africa on the other side belongs to the waters with the biggest vaiety of different fish species. Divers dicovered this outstanding area already some decades ago and meanwhile the sportfishing adventure in EGYPT developes very well too. No wonder, as the enormous variety of fishes in the Red Sea and also the close distance to Europe make this place to a “dream destination” for sportanglers.
Especially Little Big Game Beginners have very good opportubities to get their first experiences, without travelling around the half planet. Just escape in the wintertime the terrible weather at home and enjoy a week with moderate summer temperatures, spending the time at sea and experience “Seafishing pure”. The Red Sea is waiting for you!
Just to say one thing right at the beginning: Of course, there are many good reasons to plan a journey to Egypt – the ancient culture, the spectacular sights and the very friendly people – nevertheless your voyage will only have ona aim: Fishing, fishing and again fishing. After your arrival in Hurghada you will be picked up at the airport and you go directly to the boat, which you will not have to leave before the end of your trip — unless you want to.
You will be fishing either in the waters South of Hurghada in the area of Safaga or El Quseir, or you go the North following the coast along the Sinai-Peninsula and the Strait of Gubal.
During the day you will mostly do trolling with lures (Jigs oder Wobblers). The main targeted species then are: Kingfish, Barracuda, different Tuna-Species (e.g. Yellowfin -Tuna and Skipjack-Tuna), Dorado and Giant Trevally. All the named species will challenge you quite a lot during the fight – be prepared for it!
During the lunch break you will normally go to a reef where you may take a bath or go snorkeling – just as you like. In the evening the crew will ancor the boat at a covered place where you can do the very exciting bottomfishing with bait. Here you will mostly catch Barracudas, Groupers, different Sharkspecies, Rays and first and foremost the very much appreciated Kalamari.
Fishing trips EGYPT
Our absolutely highlight are the fishing trips in the deep South of Egypt – starting at Hamata and heading further South.
One week fishing in the deep South of Egypt — Raas Banas, Abu Madd, Humairah, Shalatin – just to name some of the Hot Spots which you will fish during this time.
However, due to regulations from Egyptian authorities you will return back to the Marina at night.
This trip wil put particularly focus on jigging, popping and baitfishing. When the boat will steam for longer distances, you will also put out trolloing lures. Target fish are: Giant Trevally, Kingmackerel, Barracuda, different Tuna Species, Grouper and also Sharks. Thus we are talking about „Little Big Game“ and it might be a good opportunity also for beginners to get a taste about this type of fishing.

In Egypt, we have boats that depart from Hurghada, as well as those that start their tours from Hamata or Shalatin. The boats in Egypt (for the most part) aren’t luxurious, but they’re equipped with everything you need for a successful fishing trip.
THE GODFATHER
Length: 14 meters, width: 4.5 meters, 2 cabins (one with a double bed and one with 2 single berths). 2 engines/350 hp Caterpillar. Depth sounder, GPS (Ray Marine)
The boat operates from/to Hurghada.
Very well suited for day trips. Charter price including lunch and soft drinks for 8 hours: €650
The boat is also equipped for guests who wish to stay overnight on board. It is best suited for 2–3 people, with a maximum of 4. Offers for multi-day trips with overnight stays on board are available upon request.
TILIA 2
A boat completed in 2023 that offers a high level of comfort. Powered by two diesel engines, this 18.5-meter-long and 5-meter-wide vessel features 3 cabins (5 beds in total).
There are 3 toilets, a shower, a cozy salon, air conditioning, a TV, and Wi-Fi. The boat’s electricity is mainly generated by a solar power system.
The boat operates from and to Hurghada.
TILIA 1
The “TILIA 1” is available for both day trips and multi-day cruises departing from and returning to Hurghada. It is 21 meters long and 5 meters wide and is powered by two 350-horsepower engines. The boat features 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms. It is designed to accommodate a maximum of 4–5 anglers.
Depending on the length of the tour, aboard the TILIA 1 you’ll head to the fishing grounds around Hurghada, the Strait of Gubal, or the Sinai Peninsula. This boat is also used for the scheduled solo trips.
You can also spend the nights on board (at the marina) during the day trips for fishing. This saves you a lot of time and gets you back out fishing quickly the next morning. If you book this option, full board is of course included.
The Egyptian chefs know their craft—especially, of course, when it comes to preparing freshly caught fish in many different ways, served with delicious vegetables, fresh salads, and, of course, rice. There’s plenty to eat on board, and so far, no one has ever had to reel in a fish with a growling stomach…
