Dear sport fishermen,
the annual start of the season with tours to southern Egypt from Hamata to St. Johns Reef has been very popular for a long time. A week of fishing on the Red Sea – Raas Banas, Abu Madd, Humairah, Shalatin – just to name a few of the top spots you will head for.
The waters in the absolute south of Egypt, until close to the Sudanese border were for a long time almost inaccessible for anglers, because there were hardly any boats that made tours to fish in this region. In the meantime this has fortunately changed and we can offer you from season 2021 a new boat, which is perfectly suitable for such long range tours: The “Aqua Star 2”, actually developed for divers, can be used just as well for fishing. The technical data of the boat convince that you can easily spend a week on board: 32 meters(!) long, 6.75 meters wide, 2 Mercedes engines with 500 hp each, 12 double cabins each with its own shower/WC, as well as large salon – and of course plenty of deck space for fishing. The boat normally takes 24 divers on board – but for the fishing trips there are only 6 anglers. This not only means that each guest on board can have their own individual cabin, but there’s also plenty of space on deck for everyone to share.
This tour – like many of our single driver trips – will have a special focus on jigging, popping and natural bait fishing. If we go longer distances, certainly also some trolling. Target fish here are Giant Trevally, King Mackerel, Barracuda, various species of Tuna, Grouper and also Sharks. So it is “Little Big Game” and therefore this tour is also perfect for anglers who want to get to know this fishery a little better.
Plan of the tour
Flight from Germany to Hurghada/Egypt. From there transfer to Hamata (approx. 4.5 hours), where you will board the “Aqua Star 2”. The first night you will spend in the harbor, before it starts early the next morning direction south to the fishing area.
One week aboard the “Aqua Star 2” including full board. Fishing is possible practically around the clock, depending on where the boat can anchor at night. Accommodation in single cabin.
Return to Hamata, transfer to Hurghada and flight back to Germany
